Karen E. Lile
Basics
Karen Eileen Lile was born in California in 1959. She currently lives in Walnut Creek, CA with her husband Kendall Ross Bean. They have two daughters who are married and live in the San Francisco Bay Area.
My Philosophy...
I believe in giving my entire commitment, concentration, emotions and capacities to living a full life. I value my relationships to others and have a desire to use my talents, skills and abilities to help make the environments and societies I inhabit a bit better for my having been there. I make no claim to perfection or greatness. I acknowledge and accept my weaknesses and strengths and am just a mere mortal, like the rest of the human race.
I have an avid curiosity about the ways that things work and generally look for the patterns and principles that underly the people systems that surround me. I pursue projects based upon my personal interest in an individual or group and a desire to see if I can understand the problems confronting individuals and organizations on the local level and how this relates to national and world levels. What does that really mean? I am a student of life and haven't stopped learning from others and evaluating what I see in terms of what makes sense to me.
I do not believe that what I own, look like, and the filters others see me through can adequately define who I am. But, I do value an organized society and see merit in the labels, ownerships, roles and the viewpoints of each person and group I work with. I look to the systems that others have created to learn from the collective wisdom of the years. I also look behind that wisdom to discover the questions and problems that have confronted humanity throughout the ages.
